Cherished Time
Time is something that is hard to come by in the Macat household. However, on Saturday Matt and I were lucky enough to enjoy the day together in College Station alone. My mom watched the babies and we just has "us time". Although, while out we managed to buy Paityn and Conner new toys and their highchairs they have been in need of. We had a really nice day. We ate lunch and shopped a little. Then, on Sunday we celebrated and watched our nephew Keaton make his First Holy Communion. Congratulations Keaton!! We are so proud of you :)
Easter Sunday
Easter has come and gone and we could not be more blessed during this time. We enjoyed Easter Sunday with family, got to color Easter eggs, and play games :) Paityn and Conner were amazed at the eggs and their presents! LOL After coloring eggs we played games with the leftover eggs and could help but feel like a kid again. Matt, me, Shannon, Lance, Kennedy, and Keaton played egg toss and had numerous hilarious egg relay races. This was definitely a day to remember and think it will become a new tradition :)

Not a Happy Camper
Well...it is offical. Paityn and Conner (a little) do not like being held or talked to by people they do not know. We learned this over the weekend. On Friday evening, we took the babies to a fish fry and learned first hand about the fear of strangers. Matt and I found seats and parked the double stroller next to our table. A few people walked by...noticed we had two babies..asked, "Are they twins?" LOL and then began talking to them. Within a few minutes both babies had frowns on their faces and began crying. Once Matt picked up Conner he was fine with in seconds but Paityn on the other hand was a different story. It took her about 5 minutes or so to stop screaming.
Then, while holding the babies and attempting to eat, a kind woman who has twins herself came over and started talking with us. She offered to sit next to us and hold Paityn so we could eat. Within minutes appeared a sad face looking at the woman, then looking at mommy and daddy. Then the crying began yet again. This time it took over 10 minutes to get her to quit screaming. This was when the "bear" came out. Matt and I say the "bear" comes out when Paityn changes from her normally happy self to a very loud screaming baby that seems to not be satisfied by anything. Typically this only happens when she is hungry and wants her bottle.
We originally just thought they were a little crabby b/c they did not get their afternoon nap but Saturday proved the same thing. Saturday afternoon my cousin, his wife, and their two kids came in from the Austin area to visit with us, my sister and her family, and my mom and step dad. Same thing happened yet again. Within seconds of Paityn being held by Julie, my cousin's wife, appeared the same frown and the "bear" came out yet again! Screaming and crying lasted a good 10 to 15 minutes. Once she was content...she was only satisfied with mommy holding her. Hopefully we can break this habit! Now that it is warm and pretty weather, we are wanting to get out as much as we can since we were in the house majority of the time since Paityn and Conner have been born.

A Look Into Our Lives
When we talk to most people...one of the first things they say is, "How do you do it? It is tough with my one, I couldn't imagine having two!" Then when they find out that both Matt and I work they say, "Wow, ya'll must be always busy!" Yes it is true we are definitely busy but I would not change our lives with 2 babies in it :) A lot of people have been asking what are days our like so I thought I would post a typical day in the Macat household during the work week.

8:15 pm- Feed babies their bedtime bottles

A New Beginning..
Last Saturday Paityn and Conner joined the holy family when they were baptized at St. Mary's Catholic Church. We were so blessed to celebrate such a happy and excited time in their lives. The day started out a little hectic to say the least! Conner got fever on Friday night so he did not sleep the best that night, it poured down raining early in the morning, then we woke up late. Plus, Conner's reflux had been acting up so he screamed the entire time we were trying to get ready and we left in a hurry leaving our house a disaster. Once we got in the car...God was already with us. Conner fell asleep and Paityn was being her normal happy self. Even after all the running around crazy earlier, we did make it to church at 9:58 a.m. and the baptism started at 10:00 a.m. So we are happy we were not late! The church has been under construction so even through all of the buzz saw noises in the background, things could not of been more perfect! Both Paityn and Conner hardly cried when the holy water blessed them :) After the baptism we celebrated with friend and family! We feel so blessed to have so many wonderful people who care so much about us!

4 Months
My oh my has our life been busy! The last 4 months have gone by so quickly and Paityn and Conner are growing like weeds :) Since my last post, we have made it through our first major colds, started Paityn on baby food, and Conner has now begun sleeping through the night! P.S. I am keeping my fingers crossed b/c I don't want to jinx it! LOL Monday the babies were officially 4 months and we went on Wednesday for their check up. Dr. Meyer said there was no need to correct prematurity percentiles anymore since they are doing so wonderful! So these are percentages for full term babies!!!
Paityn
- weighs 16 lbs. 14 oz. 90%
- 24 1/2 inches 60%
Conner
- weighs 15 lbs. 7 oz. 60%
- 24 1/4 25%
Both Paityn and Conner talk all the time now and have smiles for everyone! It is such a wonderful sound to wake up to in the morning instead of crying :) but we do have those morning too. We also have been enjoying some afternoon walks through our neighborhood since the weather has been so nice!
