4 Months

My oh my has our life been busy! The last 4 months have gone by so quickly and Paityn and Conner are growing like weeds :) Since my last post, we have made it through our first major colds, started Paityn on baby food, and Conner has now begun sleeping through the night! P.S. I am keeping my fingers crossed b/c I don't want to jinx it! LOL Monday the babies were officially 4 months and we went on Wednesday for their check up. Dr. Meyer said there was no need to correct prematurity percentiles anymore since they are doing so wonderful! So these are percentages for full term babies!!!

Paityn
- weighs 16 lbs. 14 oz. 90%
- 24 1/2 inches 60%

Conner
- weighs 15 lbs. 7 oz. 60%
- 24 1/4 25%

Both Paityn and Conner talk all the time now and have smiles for everyone! It is such a wonderful sound to wake up to in the morning instead of crying :) but we do have those morning too. We also have been enjoying some afternoon walks through our neighborhood since the weather has been so nice!
Happy Girl!

She never knows what to do with her tongue LOL

Cute little grin :)

Love this face!

Chunky Monkey's

I know I am a bit behind but I have finally found a few minutes to update the blog. Paityn and Conner are now 3 1/2 months and are growing very rapidly!! Just by looking at them you would never know that they were preemies. Matt and I laugh at how cubby they are both getting and love all their rolls :) Both have been healthy and we are keeping our fingers crossed it stays that way until cold, flu, and RSV season is over! Updates for each baby:

Paityn
-Still is rolling over from her back to her tummy
-LOVES to eat and is spoon fed cereal.
-Smiles and coos when you talk to her!
-Has been sleeping all night for almost a month.
-Happy baby in the morning!
-Screams if she doesn't get what she wants right away.
-Makes a frown face if she is not happy.

Conner
-Smiles and coos when you talk to him!
-Wakes up once during the night to eat around 2:30 a.m.
-Happy baby in the morning!
-Very laid back and rarely cries :)
-Loves to be extra warm!
-Enjoys baths.
-Still very laid back!
Mommy's Little Tiger!

Wouldn't let me catch the smile on camera!

Where has the time gone?

Geez...where do I even start. Since my last blog things have been happening so fast! I have been back at school now for 2 1/2 weeks and miss Paityn and Conner during the day like CRAZY! I love teaching but could definitely be a stay at home mommy :) Matt and I are adjusting to the new schedule with having to get up earlier, get ready, get the babies ready, and be out of the house in order to make it to work on time. So far, so good LOL I thought the days when I was home went fast but now it seems 10 times faster. The babies will be 12 weeks tomorrow and are growing like weeds. Several people have been asking about Paityn and Conner so I wanted to give an update.

Paityn, as of last week, weighs 12 lbs 6 oz and loves to eat! I think she would eat constantly if we kept feeding her LOL Also, almost 3 weeks ago she started rolling over from her tummy to her back and has begun to make a few coo sounds. On Monday she slept through the night from 9 pm until we woke her up at 7 am :) I had to go in there a few times and check on her but she was sound asleep! She also lets you know when she wants something and will not stop screaming until she gets it. Matt always says she is going to be our little trouble maker when she is older LOL

Conner, as of last week, weighs 12 lls 1 oz and is such a calm, laid back, and happy baby. He was placed on a reflux medicine about 3 weeks ago and it so far has made a tremendous difference. He has been making some coo sounds and now has started laughing ocassionally and sometimes smiles responsively :) He has not slept though the night yet but normally only gets up around 2:30 am or so which isn't bad. Matt says Conner is going to be a momma's boy LOL

Ears Pierced!

After the babies 2 month check up we took Paityn to get her ears pierced. I had my ears pierced as a baby and most people I talked to said to get them done as a baby. She did very well and did not cry nearly as much as I thought she would. She cried when she heard the first click and when she was finished I gave her a pacifier and she quit crying right away :) She looks so cute with her diamond studs!!

2 Month Check Up

On Thursday we went to see Dr. Meyer for Paityn and Conner's 2 month check up. Everything went very well and she said the babies are growing great for being premature. Paityn weighs 11 pounds 9 ounces and is 21 3/4 inches long. Her corrected percentiles are: 95% for weight, 95% for length, and 90% for her head circumference. Conner weighs 11 pounds 1 ounce and is 21 1/2 inches long. His corrected percentiles are: 95% for weight, 75 % for length, and 75% for his head circumference. Both babies have more than doubled their birth weigh and have grown over 3 inches in length!

On Monday I am returning to school. It will definitely be very hard for me to leave Paityn and Conner :( I am already preparing myself. I keep telling Matt that I am sure I will cry in the morning. So we will see how it goes. I only made it 4 days into the school year in August when I was put on bedrest so I really haven't worked since May. It will an adjustment going back but I love teaching so it will help some.

2 Months

Man....time is flying fast! Where has the last month gone?? The twins are 2 months old today and the Macat household has been very busy this holiday season. We feel so blessed to have such wonderful babies. Over the last month Paityn and Conner have begun to be up more during the day. Some days they are awake for 4 hours at a time. It is nice to sit and talk to them and watch them focus on a particular object or listen for a voice. Also, they have begun to hold their heads up more on their own. Of course they still need a little support when they get tired. Nights are also getting better. We let the babies sleep as much as they want during the night and allow them to wake up when they are hungry. The longest they have slept is 6 1/2 hours but it is typically 4 1/2 to 5 hours. Paityn and Conner are now sleeping in their cribs in their own room. I thought it would be hard for them to adjust since they had been in our room together for so long but it has been 3 nights with them separate and they don't seem mind. It is also amazing to us how they are so in sync. Paityn and Conner do a lot of things the same. For instance, they are hungry at the same time, normally wake up at the same time, sleep the same way, hold hands sometimes when they are on the floor together, etc... I am cherishing this last week with Paityn and Conner because I go back to work on Jan. 3rd :( I have enjoyed staying at home with them and I am going to miss it! I will post info for their 2 month check up after we go. We are very curious as to what percentages they are for height and weight since they were premature. Until next time, God Bless!
