Christmas Spirit

Yes, yes, yes...I know I have been a bad blogger recently. It has been a while since my last post. We have been extremely busy since the twins birthday...but that is no excuse! School has seemed to fly by and now that I am on Christmas break I finally have all my shopping done, presents wrapped, and house cleaned that I can sit down and post. Paityn and Conner are definitely enjoying the presents under the tree and it seems like 50 times a day I have to put them back under the tree LOL. I am pretty impressed however that the babies really were not very interested in the tree until I recently put present under it.
We have tried to make this Christmas special for the babies since they can enjoy it a little more than last year. We have drove around town and looked at lights, decorated our house inside and out, and celebrated their first school Christmas party! Paityn and Conner were more into the paper and boxes than the toys they opened up! Hahaha...that's pretty typical though. Paityn was no stranger to the other parents either. She was sitting in other mom's laps and wanted to go home with one of the dads. She was spreading her Christmas cheer I guess. Conner on the other hand was more reserved. After a while he warmed up and began exploring. After opening presents Paityn and Conner enjoyed snacks before heading home. It was a success!! Below are some pictures!

1 Year Pictures

Wow! I can't believe that I am writing that as a title. 1 year pictures...already...Paityn and Conner will turn 1 on Friday, October 28th. The last year has changed our lives so much...we entered the world of parenthood to twins and would not change it for the world. There have been many tough times but we have the best 2 kids anyone could ask for! A few weeks ago we did our one year pics with Gabri. Below are a few!

11 Months

Another month has flown by and now in only one more month the twins are going to be 1! People always say kids grow up too fast and now that I am a mom I realize how true it is. The past 11 months have been WILD and CRAZY but I would not change it for the world! Below are the updates that have happened over the last month! We now are no longer eating baby food and are all on real food for the most part. Also, yesterday we started mixing bottles half whole milk and half formula!! Over the weekend we are going to attempt to begin weaning off bottles to more cups so we will see how that goes :) Below are updates...

Paityn

-likes to play in the dog water
-stands while holding onto something
-has begun getting put in "time out"
-likes to hit and pull hair
-attempts to bite when mad
-pretends to act shy
-feeds herself

-occasionally will take a step while holding onto something

W.C.F.

This year I couldn't wait until fair time b/c if you keep up with the blog you know that last year during the fair I was on strict bed rest at home. I was excited because I got to go but more so because it was Paityn and Conner's first Washington County Fair! We went several days to the fair with the babies and they loved it. We walked through and saw most of the animals during the day and went to the rodeo Friday night. Paityn and Conner watched in ahhh at everything that was going on.
More interested in the strap than the heifers LOL

Daddy & Conner...not sure what that face was about...

Toys..Not Interested!

"No No!" seems to be said in our household a lot more now than it ever has been said before. Paityn and Conner and everywhere and are getting into EVERYTHING! Both are pulling up and standing all the time. Conner pulls up and stands...and even walks along everything!! Paityn pulls up and stands on the bathtub and attempts to on the couch, chairs, and your legs but she is a little more wobbly than Conner is. I guess its b/c of her extra weight LOL Also, Paityn and Conner no longer really have an interest in their toys but have definitely taken an interest in the dogs toys, dogs food bowls, dogs water, mini-blinds, door stoppers, our computers, and pretty much anything they are not suppose to. When they set their eyes on something it is a race to get their between the two :) Also, we have now began to enter the jealousy stage between them. If Matt or I are sitting on the floor, one will come and crawl onto our lap...then the other sees and wants you to hold them too. Then you see pushing, shoving, attempted biting, pulling hair, fussing, etc... They are only 10 1/2 months and are fighting...I can't wait to see what it is like when Paityn and Conner are 2!!

Hungry??

Paityn and Conner have been mobile for a few month now but as of a few days ago we now have "official crawlers!!!" Here is a short video on Conner getting his bottle because he was hungry and ready for bed!

That Time Again.....

So the school seasons began for me a few weeks ago and will officially begin for my students on Monday. It has been a very bitter sweet time for me as well. I loved staying home all summer with Paityn and Conner but I also love teaching. It has been a wonderful summer being able to watch their personalities develop more and more and to see how they are growing and changing. I am excited to get the school year rolling with my new students but will definitely miss my sweet babies.

Also, I wanted to let everyone know I haven't posted in a while because it has been crazy for the Macat household and sickness has spread! First, Matt was sick for almost and entire work week and was home from work, I had my allergies act up, then Paityn got sick with a virus and had fever that reached 104.4, and now Conner is congested and has a terrible cough. On the up side...Matt, myself, and Paityn are on the upside but still a little sick. Of all times to get sick....now was definitely not the right time!!! Hopefully we can all get some rest this weekend and will be healthy when school starts!

9 Months

Yesterday Paityn and Conner officially turned 9 months old. It is amazing at how fast they are growing and changing from day to day. They are definitely in to everything and keep us busy at all times.  A few of their favorite things are knocking over the toy basket, pulling out the wipes, playing with extra diapers, petting our dogs, and getting into to stuff that are no no's. It is now time that we start baby proofing a few things around the house.
On Wedneday, Paityn and Conner had tubes put in their ears and I think it was much harder on Matt and I than on them. The surgery took less than 15 minutes but it was the longest 15 minutes ever to us! We are glad that everything went great and they seem to not be bothered by anything. Today we went to see Dr. Meyer for their 9 month check up. Everything went great and Dr. Meyer said that she is very happy with where they are with things. Paityn and Conner only had to get one shot today and surprising nobody cried!!! What a relief because I had to take both babies by myself today.  Matt took off on Wednesday so he couldn't go with us today. The nursing staff there all know us so they were a huge help :) Below are the updates on the babies.

Tubes...

Since the babies have been born we have had an ongoing battle with ear infections. Paityn has had 5 ear infections and Conner has had 4. Our pediatrician had mentioned that if the ear infections continued then we may possibly have to get tubes. About a month ago we decided to takes the twins to a Pediatric ENT to have things checked out. At that point in time...both Paityn and Conner had ear infections that we did not know about..... just like every other one they have had. Friday, we went back for a check up on their ears. Paityn's ears were better and she passed her hearing tests but Conner still had fluid on both ears and he failed his hearing test in his left ear. So the doctor recommended tubes because if we are having problems now in the Summer it would only get worse during the Fall and Winter. So...tubes it is. Minus the ear infections we have happy and healthy babies and feel so blessed to be their parents!! Hopefully the tubes will do their job and fix the ear problems!!

Family

Ok...ok...I know I haven't posted in a while...but things have been quite busy lately. I have had several workshops out of town and now I am able to update. We have been enjoying spending time at home and getting to spend time with family more too! Today we went to my sister's house and went swimming with MeMe, Aunt Shannon, Uncle Josh, and cousins Kaden and Payson. It was nice to spend time together. Now that Matt and I have twins and my sister has Kaden (3 1/2) and Payson (almost 10 months) it has been hard for us to get together. However now that the babies are getting older it is easier to go out and about :) Below are a few pics over the past few weeks!!
